It is true that in Mexico we have a big problem, but it is a problem where Mexico is not 100% responsible. Dugs and consumer countries have to share the responsibility, doing what is in their hands to prevent or stop consumption, doing what ever has to be done to stop a growing and profitable market that is an incentive to increase the problem in both sides.
It is true that in Mexico corruption is a big problem, but also there is big corruption in consumer countries. Corruption starts when you allow flowing into your country drugs and cash related to this activity, when you allow development of sophisticated distribution channels. It is a problem that it is all over the world. The difference is media exposure. There are bigger violence, consumption and social problems in areas of big cities like Los Angeles or New York where do not have the same kind of exposure. There are other things more interesting to sell rather than to show own similar violence rates on the medias.
The reality is, the better the drug cartels are organized, less violence you will see in the streets. We have to recognize the effort of the Mexican government that openly is facing the problem and replacing federal police for young educated people with a different scale of values to really face the problem. As citizens openly facing the problem we are provoking collapse of cartels. It is a huge price to pay; these kinds of organizations are provoking violence as natural response showing they are fighting between them, because they are losing their organization. The good thing to appoint society is wining and this violence is not all around the country and is not in all the border cities. There are beautiful cities with the lowest crime rates you have seen that are also affected by this media exposure. Topical paradises like Manzanillo and Colima, where you can walk on the streets anytime at night and you will not have any problem. They are cities with warm and respectful people ready to assist you.
Lets address objectively what it is happening and lets do more to solve a common problem being respectful of a big majority of Mexicans that are facing the problem.
